About Us

Market Broiler rose from the tradition of California seafood landmarks dating back to the 1950's.

It's a casual, comfortable, moderately-priced, full-service, restaurant where fresh fish and seafood are prepared over mesquite charcoal flames. The key to its presentation is the fresh fish market, where all fish being served is on display.

In addition to 18 fresh fish offered daily, entrees of fresh chicken or aged beef as well as salads and pasta are offered. The food is flavorful and portions are generous. The homestyle theme is borne out by the fact that the chowders, sauces, and dressings are made from scratch in each restaurant. Our popular sourdough bread is served warm at your table as a part of the meal. 

Fresh Fish Market

Every Market Broiler has an enticing Fresh Fish Market right in the lobby. Our Fresh Fish Market Specialist will help you choose from up to 18 fresh fish and seafood for you to create a special meal at home.

Market Broiler also has specially packaged spices, sauces, canned clams and albacore tuna "to go", as well as clam chowder spice kits, our own sourdough bread and even bags of pure mesquite charcoal you can take home with you to create the complete seafood experience in your own backyard.

For any part of your meal at home that you would like to simplify, peruse our menu and find that our restaurant offers large quantities of chowder and side dishes to make your "homemade meal" easier. Just "heat & serve."

Priority Seating:

Market Broiler restaurant has always operated on a first come, first serve basis. This is commensurate with our pricing, offering our guest the best value, by operating in the most effective and efficient manner possible to all guests. However, in an effort to satisfy our guest’s desire to place a reservation, we have instituted a “priority seating policy” for parties of eight or more. Priority seating will not “hold a table” before a party arrives, but it will alert the management of pending large parties, prior to their arrival. By enabling our management team to anticipate the large party’s arrival time, they can plan how to best accommodate the party within the available seating floor plan. By operating in this manner, we do not discriminate against the guests that have been waiting in line for a table. By planning ahead, the large party is able to be seated faster. This program is beneficial to all involved -- the large party, the small party and Market Broiler Restaurants.

Fresh fish and shellfish on display in our Market may be purchased for preparation at home. Our homemade chowder and sourdough loaves are for sale, too!

Market Broiler offers for sale its own clam chowder mix, signature seasonings and, pre-packaged and ready for purchase.
